In 2007 the third and the newest generation of C-class cars appeared. Traditionally the style of the car was borrowed from S-class vehicles, namely from W221 model. The car is also produced in three options. But if in models W202 and W203 models the difference was very slight in model 204 the difference is much more significant. In Sport version the three-pointed star is moved from the hood to the grill. С-Class is also presented in BlueEfficiency version. It is the most efficient version.
Mercedes-Benz W204 – the car of the third generation of C-class vehicles. It was first presented on Geneva Auto Show in January 2007. The new car has an extended wheelbase, a stiffer bodyshell and a severe design. The model has four trim levels of equipment – Avantgarde, Elegance, Classic, AMG. The last option has a name С 63 AMG. It was built to rival Audi RS4 and BMW M3.
Versions of the car are available with a choice of rear- and all-wheel drive. In the latter case there is an improved version of the 4MATIC system. There is also a variety of four and six-cylinder engines. The car has different versions of the engine:Â M271 l4 and V6 M272 are gasoline engines. The diesel engines are OM611, OM651l4 and OM642 V6.
The majority of W203 engines are of C-class. They provided better power and improved fuel consumption. Six-speed transmission is included in standard package of all the models (apart from C 350). Five-speed automatic transmission and seven-speed automatic transmission (7G-Tronic) are available for all the packages.

The version AMG is built from the ground up but not on the base of a ready-made version. Some component parts ate borrowed from CLK 63 AMG. Seven-speed transmission has three modes: comfort, sport and free. You can switch off the ESP but it is switched on automatically when you brake hard.
